Ginger & Tumeric Tea
This is a fantastically spicey and nourishing tea. Whether it's a chilly night, you need a morning pick me up, or perhaps, you've over indulged and need to re-set - this cup of warmth will do wonders for you.
I have made it with fresh ginger and tumeric, if you only have ground tumeric - that will work too - but do try to get your hands on some fresh as it makes the difference.
You can whip up a great tea with just these 2 key players, but you can include so many other ingredients to add to the complexity and flavour of this cup of goodness.

INGREDIENTS:
1 inch piece of ginger
1 inch piece of tumeric (or 1/2 tbs ground)
1 stalk lemongrass
6-10 peppercorns
1 tsp cinnamon (or 1 cinnamon stick)
2 cups of water

Grate the tumeric and ginger. Bash the lemongrass a few times with the back of knife. Add all ingredients to a small saucepan and simmer on low for 15 minutes. Strain into a cup and enjoy.
You can add some honey or agave if you need some sweetness. Some coconut oil also adds a nice touch or sqeeze some lemon juice for a bit of zing (watch the colour change when you add the lemon!)
Remember, it's all about personal preference, or what ingredients you have on hand. I keep a bag of frozen lemongrass in the freezer, but if you don't have it, just leave it out, or replace it with some orange peel - it's YOUR cuppa, so feel free to experiement. Enjoy!
